How to online registration for GST: As we all know that GST has been implemented in India by abolishing all taxes. The full form of GST is Goods and Service Tax. If the annual turnover of your business is above Rs.20 lakh, then you will have to compulsorily register for GST. In today’s article I will tell you how to online registration for GST without spending a single rupee.

Friends, the process of doing GST registration online in India is very easy. And those who do not have knowledge of this subject, they spend from Rs.1500 to Rs.3000 in getting the GST registration of their business done. But I will tell you the GST registration step by step, that too without spending a single rupee. So let’s know how to online registration for GST.

Step 1: First of all you have to go to the portal of GST India the website of GST whose link is www.gst.gov.in. When you visit the website of the GST portal, the first page that will open in front of you will be like the image given below. See in the image there is a section of Taxpayer (Normal/TDS/TCS) at the bottom, you have to click on REGISTER NOW in the red circle below it. On opening the website from laptop or computer, the section of Taxpayer (Normal/TDS/TCS) will come in the bottom left side.

After clicking on Register now, a GST application form will open which will be like the image given below where you have to fill and submit the complete form.

Step 2:

  • First of all select New Registration
  • You have to select Taxpayer in I am.
  • After this you have to choose your state and district.
  • Enter the business name and PAN number of the business
  • After that enter your email id and mobile number.
  • Then enter the captcha code and click on PROCEED.

Step 3: After filling the form, you will get two OTP. One OTP will come on your mobile number and the other on your email ID, which you will have to verify in the next page.

Step 4: After verifying the OTP, you will get the Temporary Reference number which will be received on your email and phone number. If you want, you can note it for convenience.

Step 5: After this you have to open the GST India Portal again and go to Registration and click again. After this you have to select the Temporary Reference Number. And the Temporary Reference Number (TRN) number that you got during registration, you have to enter the same TRN number and fill the captcha code and click on Proceed.

You will again get the same OTP on your mobile and email id, which you have to enter and click on PROCEED again.

Step 6: On this page you will see the status of your GST registration in the draft. After this you have to click on the button with the pencil icon. A pencil button is made above the red arrow as seen in the image below.

Step 7: Now you have to fill the B part of this GST Form. In which there are many stages and each step has to be filled carefully.

1st Step – Business Details

In the first step, you have to fill your business details. In which you have to select Name of Business, Trade Name, Constitution of Business (type of business), PAN Card Number, District Name, State, Commissioner ate Code, Davison Code, Range Code etc. You will have to give the reason for taking registration, You have to enter the date of starting the business, after that you have to enter the information of your earlier registration and then click on Save & Continue.

Step 2 – Promoter / Partners

In the second step, you have to fill your personal details. In the personal information, you have to give your name, father’s name, mobile number, date of birth and email id etc. In Identity Information, you have to fill the information of promoter or partner. If you are the promoter then you have to fill your information otherwise your partner’s information will have to be filled. Then you have to fill your residence address and after that you have to upload the document. Keep in mind that the size of the document should not be more than 100kb. After that click on Save & Continue.

Step 3 – Authorized Signatory

In the third step, you have to add Primary Authorized Signatory, and after that fill your details which will have to fill simple information like name and mobile number. After that upload the document by filling the Identify information and Residential Address (address of your residence). In which there will be proof of authorization and a photo, then click on Save & Continue.

Step 4 – Authorized Representative

In the Authorized Representative, you just have to choose YES or NO and click on Save & Continue. If you click on Yes, then you will have to fill the details asked in it.

Step 5 – Principal Place of Business

In the fifth step, you will have to fill the complete details of your business. In which you have to fill the business unit address, nature of the place, nature of business etc. and upload the address proof of the business place and click on Save & Continue.

Step 6 – Additional Place Of Business

If you have more branches of your business then you will need the same GST number, you can fill its details here. After that click on Save & Continue.

Step 7 – Goods and Service

In this, you have to fill the details of HSN Code and SAC Code and at least the details of Top 5 Goods and Service have to be filled, then click on Save & Continue.

Step 8 – Bank Accounts

In this column, you have to fill the details of your bank account, and after that you have to upload the document in Proof of Details of Bank A/C, after that click on Save & Continue.

Step 9 – State Specific Information

This is an optional column. In this, if you have State Specific Information, then you have to fill it, otherwise you can proceed by clicking on Save & Continue.

Step 10 – Verification

In this, you have to select Name of Authorized Signatory, Place and Date by ticking the block below Verification. Then you can submit it through DSC, E-Signature or EVC. After which you will get an Acknowledgment Number within 15 days. With the help of which you can check the status of your GST Registration.

After a few days of submitting the complete details, if the officer agrees with your given information, then your GST registration will be completed. After this you will get GST Number, Username and Password.
