Speech on Independence Day (15 August )
Happy Independence Day to all my respected teachers, parents, friends and all the people present here. As we all know today is a very important day because on this day 15 August 1947 we got freedom. And today is a day of pride for all of us Indians. And today’s day is dedicated to all those freedom fighters who gave their lives to liberate our country. What is freedom, it is known by looking at the bird imprisoned in the cage, which, being imprisoned in the cage, gazes at the open sky and passes its life helplessly in the same cage.
Today we are free to speak our mind, we are free to express our mind, today we can do whatever we want, but there was a time when we were slaves of the British, we were compelled to do whatever they wanted. I had to do it, our country endured a lot of pain and humiliation by being a slave. In the year 1857, the first freedom revolution took place, which was failed by the British and it is also called the failed revolution. The entire 90 years, the entire 2 generations fought for freedom and thousands of millions of people contributed in the fight for this freedom, then the country became independent on 15 August 1947.
To remember the first day of India’s independence, we celebrate Independence Day every year on 15th August as well as remember all those great people. Due to whose hard struggles we have become able to enjoy our freedom and we can breathe in the open air at will and because of them I am giving speech on Independence Day here today. I bow my heart to all those freedom fighters.
Independence Day speech
Some of the great freedom fighters of India are Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Chandrashekhar Azad, Mahatma Gandhi, Jawaharlal Nehru, Khudiram Bose, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai, Ashfaq Ulla Khan, Ram Prasad Bismil etc. All these were great patriots who fought hard for the independence of India without caring about their lives. We cannot even imagine those scary moments of struggle by our ancestors. Even after so many years of independence, today our country is on the right path of development. Today our country is well established as a democratic country in the whole world.
India got independence from the slavery of British rule on 15th August 1947, so people all over the country celebrate this national festival with full joy and enthusiasm every year. It was a great day for all Indian citizens when the Indian Three-color was hoisted by the first Prime Minister of India, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru at the Red Fort in New Delhi.
Every year a huge festival is celebrated on the Raj path where the national anthem is sung after the flag hoisting by the Prime Minister. The national anthem is accompanied by a 21-gun salute and a helicopter showers flowers on the tricolor. Independence Day is a national holiday, although everyone celebrates it from their place by hoisting the flag in school, office, or society. We should be proud to be Indian and should do our best to protect the honor of our country.
