Home Remedies for Body Pain after Normal Delivery
1. Warm Water
Hot water compresses are considered to be the best to reduce the pain after normal delivery as it relieves abdominal pain and uterine pain and improves blood circulation. If the uterus is infected, it shrinks it.
You keep the legs clean daily by mixing antiseptic in warm water and while urinating, pour a mug of warm water on the perineal area so that the water mixed with urine becomes diluted and you have less pricking and then you pat gently with toilet paper – Wipe off gently.
During delivery, many times the front part of the vagina opens more which is very painful. For this, you should take special care here.
You should always keep your wounds clean and sit in the tub once or twice a day by applying antiseptic with warm water. The warm water will relax the perineal area and reduce swelling, and the antiseptic will protect you from germs and infections.
Ginger contains many antioxidants that have anti-inflammatory properties. It cures vaginal wounds. For this, put some pieces of ginger in a cup of boiling water and boil it for some time. Ginger relieves abdominal pain and hip pain and prevents pain and cramps after childbirth. It also reduces vaginal pain and swelling.
4. Rice Water
While boiling rice, take out some water from it and then drink this rice water lukewarm twice a day. This will improve digestion power and relieve constipation. Constipation after pregnancy is also a big problem that you will get rid of.
5. Fenugreek Water
Fennel seeds are known to have analgesic properties that relieve post-delivery pain. For this, boil 2 tablespoons of fennel in two cups of water and then drink it after adding honey to it when it is lukewarm. This will improve your digestion power and give you relief from pain.
7. Lemon Tea
Most problems after delivery are due to a weakened immune system. For this you should take more vitamin C which is found in abundance in lemon and cow or goat milk. For this, you boil a cup of water and cool it then add lemon juice to it.
Take it twice a day. Consuming this will boost your immune system and your stomach cramps will be fine. You can also add fresh mint to warm lemon water as mint also helps in curing stomach ache and headache.
For this, you mix mint leaves in a cup of boiled water and then after cooling add lemon juice and take it twice a day. This will give you a lot of relief.
8. Neat and Clean
If you have got stitches in normal delivery, then you should always keep your wounds clean and take bath with lukewarm water daily. Along with this, keep changing your sanitary pads frequently and wash your hands thoroughly before and after doing so so that the infection does not get a chance to spread. Keep your teeth clean and do not push up while passing urine or bowel movements and do not sit with your thighs wide apart.
9. Take Rest
You should rest your body as much as possible after delivery so that all the pain in the body gets time to recover and you can recover as soon as possible. The more rest you take, the sooner your body will be healthy.
Don’t bend over and lift anything heavy for a few months. Take care of yourself along with the baby because if you are healthy then the baby will also be healthy.
After having a baby, it is very important for you to rest, but after a few days you can start walking a little and if you feel yourself a little better then you can start light exercise.
Don’t forget to do pelvic exercises. By doing this exercise your blood flow will increase and you will recover soon. You should practice deep breathing techniques and meditation as these can help in uterine contractions and relieve you from prenatal cramps.
11. Do massage
You can gently massage your abdomen with oil. For this, you can massage with almond oil, coconut oil or olive oil or a combination of these three, but for this you have to massage with very light hands. First of all, put oil on the navel and apply oil slowly and this will give you relief to the uterus.

Other Tips to Reduce Pain after Delivery
- After normal delivery, pain and cramping is a problem, so you should take complete rest. It gradually gets better.
- You can use any spray or cream to get rid of pain in the anus due to bleeding, but only on the advice of the doctor.
- If you are in severe pain, you can take paracetamol. Taking paracetamol during this time is considered safe. You should ask your doctor about its dosage. If you still don’t get relief, see your doctor.
- Wash your hands with soap and water so that there is no infection.
- Change your sanitary pads regularly.
