In the scriptures, Lord Ganesha has been called Vighnaharta. They have been entrusted with the responsibility of defeating all sorrows for the welfare of human beings. Lord Ganesha, the knower of Vedas, is the first worshiper, that is why Bappa is always worshiped before doing any auspicious work. Ganesha is also known by these 12 names – Sumukh, Ekadanta, Kapila, Gajakarnak, Lambodar, Vikata, Obstacle-Destroyer, Vinayaka, Comet, Ganadhyaksha, Bhalchandra, Gajanan. 1 – Lord Ganesha was born on the Chaturthi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha and that is why the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi is celebrated every year on this day.
2 – It is said about Lord Ganesha that he was created by Mother Parvati from the filth of her body. It is said that Mata Parvati’s friends had advised her that she should also make such a composition that only obeys her orders like Nandi and all other ganas obey Mahadev. Thinking this, Parvati created Lord Ganesha as her son.
3 – Ganapati is such a god whose entire universe resides on all the parts of the body. Dharma resides on the trunk of Ganapati, the world resides in the navel. The goal in their eyes or eyes, the hymns in their ears and the abode of Brahmaloka on their head. There is food and wealth in the hands, prosperity in the stomach and poverty on the back. Therefore, the back should never be seen.
4 – Tulsi is forbidden in the worship of Ganesh ji because Shri Ganesha rejected his marriage proposal. Out of anger, Tulsi cursed Shri Ganesha to get married and Shri Ganesha cursed Tulsi to become a tree.
5 – Lord Ganesha is immersed 10 days after Chaturthi because according to religious texts, Shri Ved Vyas narrated the Mahabharata story to Shri Ganesh from Ganesh Chaturthi for 10 consecutive days, which Shri Ganesh ji had been writing. After 10 days, when Ved Vyas ji opened his eyes, he found that after 10 days of hard work, the temperature of Ganesh ji has become very high. Immediately Ved Vyas ji had cooled Ganesh ji by taking him to a nearby pool. Therefore, by establishing Ganesha, they are cooled on Chaturdashi.
6 – According to Shiva Mahapuran, Ganesha is married to Prajapati Vishwaroop’s daughters Siddhi and Ridhhi. Shri Ganesh has two sons, their names are Shubh and Labh.
7 – According to Shivmahapuran, when Lord Shiva was going to destroy Tripura, there was an Akashvani that unless you worship Lord Ganesha, you will not be able to do this. Then Lord Shiva called Bhadrakali and worshiped Ganesha and won the battle.
8 – It is said that once when Parashurama reached Kailash to see Lord Shiva, the Lord was in meditation. Then Ganesha did not allow Parashuramji to meet Lord Shiva. Angered by this, Parashuram ji attacked Shri Ganesh with an ax. That ax was given by Lord Shiva himself to Parashurama. And Ganesh ji did not want to let the blow of that furrow empty, so he took the blow of that furrow on his tooth, due to which one of his teeth was broken. This is the reason why he is also called Ekadanta.
9 – If you see the moon on the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, then you may get a false stigma. According to a legend, the moon was very proud of its appearance. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, seeing the Gajmukh and Labodara form of Ganesh ji, the moon laughed. Ganesh ji got angry with this and cursed the moon that whoever sees you on the Chaturthi of Bhadrapada Shukla Paksha will get a false stigma.
10 – It is known to all that Lord Ganesha loves Modak (Laddu) very much. But why do you like modaks? There is actually a reason behind this. One of the teeth of Ganesh ji was broken in the battle with Parashuram ji. Due to this, Ganesh ji finds it difficult to eat other things, because he has to chew. Modak is very soft so that it does not have to be chewed. It dissolves as soon as it enters the mouth and its sweet taste pleases the mind.
